Cocoberry Cowl

Cocoberry Cowl, a knitting pattern. Available in English.

Description

I designed this cowl because usually, a cowl is either too wide to really keep your neck warm, or very bulky. The Cocoberry Cowl is made to fit, and is very suitable to wear in a chilly office, under an elegant coat or just to snuggle up in on the couch. The way it is constructed makes sure that it stays put to keep your neck and shoulders warm, and the little buttons ,the flowers and the lace border add a touch of femininity and elegance. Instructions to adjust the pattern to your own size are included.

The pattern is suitable for experienced knitters, and also for adventurous beginners. Since it is chart-only, it is very useful if you are adept at reading your own knitting.

This cowl is great to show off your handspun yarn. The prototype (pink) was knitted from my own handspun. As you can see, the colour repeats work quite well with the pattern. For an even sleeker look you can use a solid or semi solid yarn, but you can also show off a more variegated yarn, because the pattern is not very demanding. The blue example is knit in Posh Sylvia DK, which, while being a great yarn, I would not recommend, because it contains 50% silk and the cowl will be less elastic and tend to sag a little. The cowl will work best if knitted in a yarn that mainly consists of wool.
