Cocoberry Cowl

With the yarn I made in the Chocolate & Strawberries Valentine Challenge, I started knitting a fitted cowl, designing on-the-go. Actually, you could call it a small scarf with buttons as well. The neck part is knit in warm ribbing, then the cowl is shaped around your shoulders. Finally, I added some flowers and a lace border that silently echos those flowers. I had to start over a couple of times before I got it the way I wanted, but in the end, I managed to produce this:

One of the great things about this cowl is, that I was living the entire process from fiber to finished object. First spinning the fiber, then plying it, washing and drying. Starting to think about what to make, translating that into a tangible product… it was a great experience, and it confirms to me that I’m a real process crafter.

Two people have offered to test knit this cowl already, and I have knitted it myself a second time as well. The pattern will be available for purchase in a couple of weeks, I think.
