I had a bit of a painting block going on. Painting colour and shape and precision were too much for my current brain power, so I was longing for painting, but did not manage to start because of the daunting goals I set for myself. But I broke the block by taking some of my self-imposed goals away. No colour. No intricate details. No backgrounds. It helped!

I’m using one colour: Payne’s grey, which is a mix of black and blue.

Yep, this works. Let’s see how it develops. I actually like painting like this a lot. It’s freeing to just start, absorb the shape that forms, and manipulate it a bit into the direction where it wants to go. Usually towards becoming a cat. But that’s just how my mind works, I guess.
